In an intrauterine insemination (IUI) system, sperm are directly inserted into the uterus using a small catheter. The main goal of this process is to increase the probability of fertilization by increasing the number of healthy sperm that enter the fallopian tubes throughout the girl's period of maximum fertility.
IUI can be beneficial in many situations:
Couples struggling with infertility due to scientific conditions including endometriosis or low sperm count/excellent.
Couples suffering from unexplained infertility.
Female same-sex couples using donor sperm.
Single girls who wish to establish a circle of relatives using donor sperm.
IUI is a well-known desire to remedy because it is far minimally invasive, cost-effective and can be conveniently completed in our medical facility, and serves as an alternative to in vitro fertilization (IVF).
What to expect during Female infertility treatment
During the preliminary session, you will meet with one of our fertility professionals to discuss your scientific record and circle of relatives who plan dreams. Diagnostic checks such as a saline sonogram (SIS) or hysterosalpingogram (HSG) may then be ordered to ensure that your fallopian tubes are open and your uterus is healthy, helping you determine the most appropriate fertility drug.
Fertility treatment options
IUI treatment is usually performed during the ovulation cycle. Often sufferers will undergo fertility drugs, which include Clomid, to stimulate ovulation. Medicines will be prescribed and normal ultrasound and blood tests may be done to accurately determine the upper limit of time for the insemination method.
Once the ovulation window is identified, your partner will offer a sperm sample, which will be prepared by our andrologists, or if donor sperm is used, it will likely be organized using a 3rd birthday party business venture. In-lab samples will undergo a sperm-washing procedure to isolate the best-quality sperm.
How does IUI work
Operated by hand on one breast at a time, devoid of a power source.A speculum may be inserted during the procedure to visualize the cervix, similar to a Pap smear. A specialized tube designed for IUI can then be used to deposit an organized sample of sperm into your uterus. The technique is short and usually painless, with a few ladies experiencing mild cramping and recognizing in the afternoon or later. After this process, you can resume your normal activities, including sex.
About weeks post-IUI, you will have a pregnancy to look at to determine the success of the process. If the result is positive, we will closely monitor your pregnancy with blood tests and ultrasound. If the view is wrong, we plan a new correction cycle or explore opportunity possibilities.
